Ok… I just got off the course after draining my second hole in one!!! This was the second time I aced Cottonwood Hill’s Hole #8, within 3 months of each other (first was 4/17/07), using the same exact club (7iron), white tee box, 167 yards, same ball (Titleist HVC Tour SF, but #2 this time)…. awesome!!!! Patrick Hanson was there as a witness and this time it was clearly visible. The pin was red, in the front center, and my shot landed 9 feet in front of the cup, hopped once…. rolled……….. DRAAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNEEEEEDDDD iiiitttTTTTTTTTTT.!!!!!!!!!! There were two witnesses on the back side of the green that saw the entire thing! Damn golf is fun! WHOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Yep you read it right.  I stroked my best round of golf ever yesterday at Cottonwood Hills.  It was Easter Sunday and the tee time was at 2:10 pm.  I played golf with Luke, Andy, and Brent.  Over the course of the day I shot 3 birdies, 11 pars, and 4 bogeys.  It was a gorgeous day, and everything seemed to be going my way!!!  I just love golf… Now I can’t think of anything else… i just want to play!  If you wanna check out the scorecard, head over to www.egolfr.com and lookup my 71!!!  WHoooOOOOooooo

Ok, so I have been in the buying mood lately.  I recently purchased a brand new Gibson SJ200 guitar from the buy one get one free sale at Music Villa.  This guitar is just absolutely awesome!!!  I’ll throw some pics up in the photo gallery (which i need to replace with a rails/flickr app)… anyways, I’ve been playing alot more guitar lately, and needlesstosay i need alot more practice.   Also the 2007 golf pass has been purchased (2/17/07)… i’m member #56 for this year!  Oh ya, i can’t wait to play…..  Oh and the last thing… i bought a new art easel today… haven’t painted yet, but Seltz is going to show me tomorrow.  Just another good hobby to get started… oil painting… i’m gonna paint mountains, trees, etc… should be fun!  Ok, and I also have been jammin on eGolfr.com … it is getting close…. only a few more days left till golf (which is the deadline).  The golf pro said March 1st!!! can’t wait!  ok i should get some sleep…

Can’t believe the entire month is already over…  Work at RightNow has been trying, but we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  The snow is making me just upset!  It is not good enough to snowboard, and it is of course killing the golf season.  Passes go on sale February 17th, $475…. well worth it in my book!  Ok, speaking of golf… egolfr.com is coming along nicely.  I just improved the look-and-feel with a different andreas layout.  That swedish guy is good at CSS, might as well use a good design off the bat.  The layout is designed for 1024px, and i feel this is perfect for the golf scorecard and various maps ect…  The site should be finished by the “ides of february” (thats 15 if you didn’t know).  Ok, anyways back to jammin to “The Allman Brothers Band”, and drinking “Mirror Pond”, and programming….

Ok, well I took the plunge and registered eGolfr.com, for the golf app I’ve been working on.  It was only $10 to register and add the domain onto devingray.com.  I’m going to pretty much develop this site live from this point forward until the spring when I tee off.  I hope to have eGolfr V1.0 go live on a much faster server by then.  I’m going to add some killer stuff to the first release, and I haven’t finished the feature list yet (because it is constantly growing).  There is no real need for a detailed design spec up front, because it is so easy to add/subtract feature ideas as you develop.  My current ideas are as follows (remember its 1:14 am here… bare with me):

1) players, courses, rounds acts_as_taggable

2) multiple pictures per player, course, round

3) fully integrate with google maps API, ie (geocoder,, acts_as_locatable) for course location, hole/tee location, photo locations

Thanksgiving was great in Spokane!  Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and my all time favorite “Green Bean Cassarole” were all present at the feast.  Momma did good.  The only problem was that on the way to Washington from Montana, my honda’s muffler / manifold started acting up.  The drive from St. Regis to Spokane was extremely loud, from the engine noise and the weather was crappy…. But I made it and now I am just relaxing at my parent’s “penthouse” at the top of Spokane.  The view here is just awesome!  Now i just need to convince my dad to buy an HD-TV like I bought!  (50″ Plasama!!! w00t!)  Ok well i think my sister and I are going to go shopping, or just cruise around town.  till next time!

Its been a long time since I posted, but I think its time to update the log with the work i’ve been doing with Ruby on Rails. A guy I work with introduced me to Ruby on Rails, which simply put is a very powerful way in which produce web applications. Ruby is a programming language written in 1995, based after Perl and Python. Ruby on Rails was invented a few years ago, and now is really gaining popularity. I’m currently in the process of writing my first application in RoR. I have wanted to keep track of my golf scores, and this is a perfect little opportunity to learn a new language and build a useful app. I’ll update the log when I have finished the golf app. In the mean time the app is located at golf.devingray.com

Ok, well we didn’t end up hiking at all this weekend.  There have been some seriously bad fires near bozeman, and the entire valley is filled with smoke.  I woke up and couldn’t even see the mountains…. I did play some golf this weekend.  On Saturday I played with Pat Hansan and shot a 37!!! That was a great round… only 2 single bogeys and the rest were pars.  On Sunday I played with Andy, and shot a 40.  And today on Monday I played again with Andy and shot a 41.  Today i had 2 really nice birdies, due to nice putts at the end.  Putting is the heart of a great game..  Ok well tomorrow is work, and this week I need to prepare for Russ’ wedding and the RNOW user conference on Sunday-Thursday.  I’ll update throughout the week.  Peace.

Ok… so i took a huge break, but i’m back baby!  I’m sitting here with Luke Davison planning out our trip up to Sacagawea Peak tomorrow morning.  It should be a pretty sweet hike, not too hard, and its the highest point in the Bridger Range.  Hmmm…. details about the last couple weeks:  work, golf, food, not much else.  I’ll post some pics tomorrow after the hike.  Stay cool bozeman!

Ahhh…. waking up in Billings…. slept good on the couch at Jake and Tara’s apartment. We have a tee time around 10:30 or so at Peter Yagen…. The wedding is at 6:00 pm tonight, and should be an awesome time. I’ll try to take some good pics. Ok, need to get some food in me. talk to you later.
